Welcome to the May edition of my e-newsletter. May has been a month of momentum, both here at Milton and at Queen’s Park. From major investments to local initiatives, this edition provides a quick look at what I’ve been focused on and what’s ahead for Milton.

$48M+ for municipal infrastructure since 2024
Through Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program, Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund, and the Building Faster Fund, I’ve been able to bring over $48 million to Milton. That means stronger infrastructure, more housing support, and upgrades to essentials like roads and water systems.

$4.1M for Connected Care in Halton
Healthcare should meet people where they are. That’s why I’m proud of our $4.1 million investment in integrated primary care, supporting Support House and the Mobile Community Health Centre. More accessible & more connected!

Advocating for You, Every Day
My constituency office remains focused on one thing: ensuring Milton’s voice is heard loud and clear at Queen’s Park. Whether assisting residents, supporting local organizations, or advocating for our community’s priorities, my team and I are committed to delivering results for Milton.

As we head into the summer months, I look forward to spending even more time in our community, connecting with residents, businesses, and local organizations.

Legislative update

Over the past several weeks back at the Legislature, I have had the opportunity to take part in debates on key legislation and contribute to important policy decisions aimed at strengthening, supporting, and advancing Ontario’s long-term growth and stability.

$51M invested to crack down on auto theft and organized crime across Ontario. Auto theft is already down 36% from its 2023 peak.
Improved data sharing, stronger measures to stop VIN fraud, and efforts to prevent stolen vehicles from re-entering the market are being advanced in partnership with the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council and industry partners to better protect consumers and shut down fraud at every stage.
$3B invested to add over 2,500 new jail beds and strengthen correctional capacity is reinforcing Ontario’s commitment to public safety and meaningful bail reform.
Bill 101, the Putting Student Achievement First Act, 2026, received Royal Assent, advancing measures to support student success and strengthen Ontario’s education system.
Bill 114, the HST Relief Implementation Act (Residential Property Rebates), 2026, received Royal Assent, supporting housing affordability and homeownership across Ontario.
The Legislature continued debate on public safety and justice legislation, including Bill 75, the Keeping Criminals Behind Bars Act, 2026, aimed at strengthening community safety and accountability measures.
Debating legislation related to municipal governance, infrastructure expansion, tax relief, and support for workers and families.
Participation in the Project Cyprus press conference, which announced the largest firearms seizure in the history of the force. The operation highlights continued efforts to disrupt illegal firearms trafficking, strengthen enforcement against organized crime networks, and enhance public safety across Ontario communities. Also continuing advocating for Milton’s priorities at Queen’s Park, including infrastructure investments, housing supply, economic development, and support for local families and businesses.

$4.1 Million Investment to Strengthen Primary Care in Halton

Ontario is investing in stronger access to primary care across Halton through a new Interprofessional Primary Care Team (IPCT) initiative led by the Connected Care Halton Ontario Health Team. This collaborative regional investment brings together five primary care organizations to improve equitable access to healthcare services, strengthen community-based care, and support the needs of Halton’s rapidly growing communities, including Milton and North Halton.

$64,100 Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant Supports Milton Lawn Bowling Club

The Milton Lawn Bowling Club received a $64,100 Capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to support important infrastructure upgrades, including the installation of a new water meter and backflow valve in partnership with Halton Region Public Works.

It was a pleasure to join representatives from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, club members, and community leaders to recognize this investment and celebrate the positive impact it will have for seniors and residents who rely on the club as a welcoming space to stay active, connected, and engaged in Milton. Since 1913, the Milton Lawn Bowling Club has played an important role in bringing the community together through recreation, social connection, and inclusive programming, and this investment will help ensure the club continues to thrive for years to come.

$73,800 Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant Supports Growth of Community Soccer in Milton

It was a pleasure to join Milton Magic FC at their Recreational Kick-Off Day to celebrate a $73,800 Capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, supporting the expansion of inclusive soccer programming for youth and families in Milton.

This investment is helping Milton Magic FC enhance access to recreational sport through the purchase of new equipment and program resources, ensuring more children and families can participate, develop their skills, and stay active in a welcoming and inclusive environment. As Milton continues to grow, investments like these play an important role in strengthening community sport, supporting youth development, and bringing people together through shared activity.

Congratulations to Milton Magic FC on this well-deserved funding, and thank you for your ongoing commitment to building a strong and connected community through sport.

Celebrating Mother’s Day at Seasons Retirement Communities

Over Mother’s Day weekend, it was a pleasure to visit residents at Seasons Retirement Communities and spend time with the incredible seniors who call these communities home.

Mother’s Day is a meaningful opportunity to recognize the love, wisdom, and contributions of mothers and grandmothers across Milton. It was heartwarming to connect with residents, hear their stories, and celebrate the important role they continue to play in strengthening our community.

Thank you to the staff at Seasons Retirement Communities for the warm welcome and for creating a supportive and caring environment for residents year-round.

Inspiring Future Leaders - Youth Advisory Council Tours Milton District Hospital

It was a pleasure to join students from the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) for a guided tour of Milton District Hospital. The group was welcomed by Stefania and Gosia, alongside Syed Raza, Director of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships. Students received an informative overview of the hospital before touring key areas including Diagnostic Imaging, Cardiorespiratory and ICU, Medical/Surgical, the Operating Room, Redevelopment, and the Milton District Hospital Foundation.

What made this visit especially meaningful was the curiosity and engagement shown by the students as they explored the hospital environment and learned about the many teams working together to deliver care in our community. Opportunities like this help connect young people with local healthcare professionals and inspire future pathways in health and community service. I want to thank the MDH team for their time, leadership, and commitment to supporting student learning and community engagement.

Milton Students Set to Shine on the International Stage

I was proud to recognize four talented students from Stagecoach Performing Arts Milton who will be representing Canada at Stage Vision 2026 in London this May. Their hard work, creativity, and dedication are a reflection of the incredible talent we have here in Milton, and I know they will make our community proud on the international stage. Wishing Chara, Era, Madden, and Walter the very best as they prepare for this exciting opportunity.

Give a Furry Friend a Forever Home

Buster is a 4-year-old male Siberian Husky looking for his forever home. Energetic, intelligent, and highly food-motivated, he loves learning new tricks, puzzle toys, treats, and active play. Affectionate and people-oriented, Buster enjoys spending time with his humans while also communicating when he needs space.

He is making great progress with housetraining and would thrive in an experienced, active home that can provide structure, consistency, and plenty of exercise and enrichment. Buster would do best in a home with a secure yard, no shared walls, and adults or older teens (16+). He is likely happiest as the only dog, where he can build a strong bond with his family and be a loyal, fun-loving companion. 🐾

Although Blue Jay is missing his right eye, he navigates confidently and adapts well with the right care and support. With patience and understanding, he blossoms into a sweet, affectionate companion and forms a strong bond with those who earn his trust. 🐰
